OB/GYN Physician (Locum Tenens)
Location: Elizabeth, New Jersey
Schedule Type: Flexible Schedule
On-Call: No Job Description:Seeking a Board-Certified OB/GYN Physician for a locum tenens position starting in July 2025. This role requires 48 hours per week and includes coverage in Labor & Delivery, Women s Health Center, and a Private OB/GYN Practice.Key Responsibilities:Labor & Delivery Coverage:

• Manage deliveries and provide emergency OB/GYN care
• Respond to OB/GYN emergencies in the ED when indicated
• Collaborate with Certified Nurse Midwives (CNMs), residents, and other hospital staffClinic & Office Duties:
  • Provide patient care at the Women s Health Center and Private OB/GYN Practice (8-hour shifts)
  • See approximately 35 patients per clinic day
  • Perform in-office procedures, including:
    • Colposcopy
    • Endometrial biopsy
    • Vulvar biopsySurgical Responsibilities:
      • Perform gynecologic surgeries (open, laparoscopic, and robotic)
      • Operate in collaboration with mid-level providers and hospital staffSchedule & Work Assignment:
        • Shift Hours:
          • 12-24 hour shifts in Labor & Delivery
          • 8-hour shifts in clinic settings (1-2 days per week)
          • Total Weekly Hours: 48
          • Breakdown of Duties:
            • Labor & Delivery (including ED consults)
            • GYN surgeries as scheduled
            • Outpatient clinic coverage at Women's Health Center and Private OB/GYN PracticeRequirements & Qualifications:
              • Board Certification
              • Experience in OB/GYN emergencies, surgeries, and office procedures
              • Ability to work collaboratively with mid-level providers and support staff
              • Proficiency with EMR systems:
                • Hospital EMR: SCM and GE
                • Clinic EMR: Athena and paper recordsSupport & Resources Available:
                  • Labor & Delivery Support:
                    • 24/7 Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) coverage
                    • 24/7 Neonatology and Anesthesia services
                    • OB/GYN residents available
                    • Clinic & Surgical Support:
                      • CNMs, APNs, RNs, Medical Assistants, and Ultrasound Technicians
                      • Maternal-Fetal Medicine (MFM) specialists available three days per week
