Job Description Job Description Direct Support Professional – Residential Program Location: New Britain, CT Company: CCARC, Inc. Job Type: Full-time 32 hours per week Requirement: Must be fluent in American Sign Language (ASL), as participants in this program are deaf. Position ID: HR008 CCARC, Inc. is a nonprofit organization committed to supporting individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities. We are seeking compassionate and dependable Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to join our Residential Program team and make a meaningful difference in the lives of others. Responsibilities: Communicate respectfully and effectively with participants, families, guardians, DDS, healthcare providers, and internal teams. Observe and report physical or behavioral changes in participants, maintaining accurate documentation. Assist with personal care, hygiene, and treatments, including medication administration and vital sign monitoring. Educate and support participants in personal hygiene, grooming, and social conduct. Coordinate and lead recreational and social activities, shopping trips, and safe transportation. Perform general housekeeping duties, including laundry and maintaining a clean, safe living environment. Support nutritional needs by monitoring meals and adhering to individual food consistency guidelines. Respond appropriately to emergencies and follow emergency procedures. Manage and record household and individual funds in accordance with CCARC policies. Collaborate with team members and supervisors to resolve challenges. Follow all safety protocols, including universal precautions, OSHA standards, and infection control procedures. Maintain reliable attendance and participate in required in-services, staff meetings, and training sessions.
