We're seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to lead day-to-day
maintenance and reliability initiatives at a fast-paced industrial
manufacturing facility. This is not a design job - it's a
boots-on-the-ground role focused on troubleshooting, system
performance, and power distribution in a complex environment that
runs 24/7.
You'll be the go-to expert on high-voltage systems, rotating
equipment, PLCs, and power infrastructure - helping to reduce
downtime, drive reliability, and lead project upgrades that keep
production moving.
What You'll Handle:
- Troubleshoot and maintain MV/LV systems, MCCs, VFDs, motors, and
power gear
- Optimize reliability through preventative and predictive
maintenance (PdM, thermography, vibration)
- Support PLC/HMI/DCS controls (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, etc.)
- Execute and manage capital upgrades to improve energy efficiency
and reduce risk
- Enforce safety standards in compliance with NEC, OSHA, NFPA
70E
- Collaborate with maintenance, production, and engineering teams
to meet KPIs
- Supervise contractors and lead electrical repair crews when
needed
Must-Have Qualifications:
- Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering or related field
- 3+ years of experience in electrical maintenance
(industrial/manufacturing setting)
- Familiarity with high-horsepower motors, transformers,
switchgear, drives, and control systems
- Hands-on experience with troubleshooting electrical faults and
automation failures
- Strong understanding of regulatory standards (NEC, OSHA,
NFPA)
- Comfortable working in a plant environment with rotating shifts
and on-call responsibilities
Bonus Points For:
- PE License or CAP certification
- Experience in pulp & paper, chemicals, or utilities
- Working knowledge of SCADA, PID loops, or industrial networking
protocols
- Prior involvement in plant turnarounds or shutdowns
- Lean Six Sigma or TPM knowledge
